According to the degree of potential harm of the radiation device to human health and the environment, the Classification class divides the radiation device into Class I, Class II, and Class III from high to low.

Short-time exposure of Class I radiation devices can cause severe radiation damage to the irradiated personnel, and its safety and protection requirements are high. Class II radiation devices can cause severe radiation damage to the irradiated personnel during accidents, and their safety and protection requirements Higher; Class III radiation devices generally do not cause radiation damage to the person being exposed, and their safety and protection requirements are relatively simple.

According to the Classification, ray devices belonging to Class III include medical X-ray computed tomography (CT) devices; X-ray devices for human body safety examination; medical diagnostic X-ray devices; X-ray bag inspection devices; oral (dental) X-rays Device; X-ray diffractometer; radiotherapy simulation positioning device; X-ray fluorescence instrument; X-ray blood irradiation instrument; other types of radiation detection devices (measuring thickness, weighing, measuring aperture, measuring density, etc.); ) into the device; veterinary X-ray device; electron beam welder

It can be seen that the radiation device is widely used in medical and security inspections and is closely related to the daily life of the public. Therefore, its safety and reliability have been highly concerned by everyone. The "Classification" issued this time further clarifies the potential harm of the radiation device to human health and the environment, and helps the public to further understand the radiation device, break the relevant rumors, and eliminate unnecessary panic.

The "Classification" shall be implemented as of the date of promulgation, and the original State Environmental Protection Administration announced that No. 26 of 2006 shall be abolished at the same time.
